Licensing, cancellation and weather policy — the three things worth reading before a retainer changes hands.
Enough to clean up a distraction, never enough to change who someone is. Stray hairs, a temporary blemish, a crease in the backdrop — those go. Bone structure, skin texture and the shape of a face stay exactly as they are. If you want something heavier than that, say so at brief stage and it gets quoted as a separate retouch pass.
A first-look gallery of unretouched selects reaches you within 48 hours of the shoot. The final retouched set follows in five working days. Wedding galleries take a little longer at ten to fourteen days, simply because there are more frames. Rush delivery inside 24 hours is available as an add-on.
Solid colours photograph better than busy patterns, and matte fabrics better than shiny ones. Bring two or three options and we will pick on the day against the light we actually have. For teams, a shared colour family reads more consistent than a strict uniform. A styling note goes out with every booking confirmation.
You get a licence, Dee keeps the copyright — that is standard for commissioned work. Every package includes a non-exclusive, non-transferable personal-use licence: keep the files, print them, post them on your own accounts. Commercial use — advertising, brand promotion, paid social, billboards, anything a third-party brand runs — is not included as standard and is quoted separately, based on where it runs, for how long and at what scale. Say so before you book and it gets priced with the rest. RAW files are not part of any package unless the package says so.
Anywhere within 30 km of Accra is included in the package price. Beyond that it is ₵6.00 per kilometre, or flights and accommodation at cost where an overnight is needed. Weddings outside Greater Accra are quoted individually — send the dates and venue and it gets worked up properly.
Indoor work is unaffected. For location shoots the call gets made by 6pm the evening before: either we move to the next agreed slot at no charge, or we shoot it anyway with a covered backup location in the plan. Overcast is flattering light for portraits, so it is far less often a problem than people expect.
Digital, but graded to hold the contrast and colour of the stock the look is borrowed from. Everything is shot RAW and finished on a hardware-calibrated display, which is why skin tones stay consistent between the frames on your phone and the ones you print.
A retainer confirms the date — 30% on portraits, birthdays and smaller shoots, 40% on weddings and major events. The balance is due on or before the shoot date. Mobile money, bank transfer and card all work, and the retainer is non-refundable: it pays for holding the date and turning other work away. With at least 14 days' notice it can be transferred once to another available date.
